The Austrian Days in Iasi and Chisinau are organized by the Austrian lectors at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University and Moldova State University, in collaboration with the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture and the Austrian Cultural Forum in Bucharest.

Friday, march 7 – Saturday, march 8

Advanced training for teachers of German as a Foreign Language, about Austrian culture and civilization and its didactic realization. Workshops with a both theoretical and practical approach will provide participants with teaching materials and methodic advice. The events are organized by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture and OeAD (Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research).

Furthermore, a cultural programme is taking place, organized by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Bucharest, in collaboration with OeAD and Austrian Libraries.

Thursday, march 6, 7 pm – Austrian Short Movies
Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, B-dul Carol n. 19, Corp I, sala 1, Iasi
The evening’s programme includes “Erdbeerland” by Florian Pochlatko, winner of the Austrian Movie Award for Best Short Film 2014, as well as a selection of the nominees, such as „Spitzendeckchen” by Dominik Hartl and „Trespass” by Paul Wenninger. The event is organized by the Austrian Foreign Ministry and the Academy of Austrian Film.

Friday, march 7, 8 pm – Reading Andrea Grill

Andrea Grill was born in 1975 in Bad Ischl/Austria, studied, among others, in Thessaloniki and Salzburg and did her doctor’s degree in biology in Amsterdam. She writes novels, narrations and poetry, works as a translator from Albanian and publishes in various newspapers and magazines. Her work has been translated into Albanian and Russian, and she has received numerous international awards for her writing.

Friday, march 7, 10 pm – Concert A.G.Trio
Baia Turceasca Iasi, Str. Uzinei, Iasi
Producers Markus Reindl, Roland Bindreiter and Jürgen Oman, originally solo musicians, played their first concert together in Novi Sad (Serbia). This improvised live concert led to them being a spectacular studio act. International stars, such as Groove Armada, The Crystal Method or Kissy Sell Out, have played A.G.Trio’s tracks in their DJ sets. Their shows and solo performances are heavily demanded for clubs and venues in and outside of Europe. Electro house with pop vocals, presented in a fabulous live show.
