The team of „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University was awarded bronze and silver medals two weeks ago at the International Mathematics Olympiad- SEEMOUS 2013.
Between the 21st and 25th of march 2013, the students at the Computer Science Faculty took part in the 7th edition of SEEMOUS – South Eastern European Mathematical Olympiad for University Students, together with students from five other Romanian universities.
The awards were granted as follows:
- Lavinia Maria Gherasim (2nd year) – silver medals
- Alice Andreea Laic (2nd year) – bronze medal
- Adina Nedelcu and Bogdan Ursu (1st year) – participating diploma
The computer science team was coordinated by lecturers Florin Iacob and Corina Forăscu. Due to the extraordinary results of the students from the six universities, Romania has has won 1st place in country ranking.
The university’s team has been consistently winning medals in this competition ever since 2010.
